musical improv 2:
|
You've been introduced to the basics of musical improv, and now you want more, more, more musical improv magic! In Musical Improv 2, students will build on basic musical improv skills, extending into longer form musical theater scenework. We'll explore the connection between emotion and music, learn more advanced song structures, and start working with the building blocks of Broadway-style narrative musicals. As the Bard might have said if he'd been a musical improviser, "If music be the food of happiness, play on!"
Prerequisite: Completion of Musical Improv 1 with Jeff Kimball
NOTE: STUDENTS MUST ATTEND AT LEAST FOUR OF THE FIVE CLASSES
TO GET CREDIT FOR THIS CLASS.
About Your Teacher:
Jeff Kimball is a Music Director at ImprovBoston. In 2015 he was co-MD of GoreFest 13, and MD of the IB Holiday Spectacular. Jeff has been improvising across the Northeast, both on stage & behind the keyboard, since sometime in the previous millennium. He is also a frequent Music Director for community theatre productions, among other musical ventures. If you play your cards right, you might see him playing banjo and accordion unironically in public. By day, he's an actor/musician/educator with Urban Improv.
Small but Important Details!
*Please note that once you make your purchase, your place in the class is NON-REFUNDABLE
unless we have 48 hours notice before the event AND we can get someone to fill your spot.
*Students must be 18+ years. (In actual years, not maturity. ;)
*Our classes involve physical activity, and we could be on our feet for at least an hour.
If that's an issue, please let your instructor know how we can accommodate the class to fit your needs.
Please email us with any questions about accommodations for ability.
