Premise, Heightening, and the Power of Lists
|
What’s funny? In this three hour workshop, we’ll define premise and heightening, the building blocks of sketch comedy, and we’ll examine the power of lists to identify funny ideas and make them even funnier. Students will be asked to watch 3-4 sketches in advance of the workshop so we can dissect them during our time together. The workshop will include solo writing time as well as discussion, sharing work, and positive feedback. By the end of the workshop, students will have experience drafting a sketch.
Please note: students must bring a notebook or laptop. This class is capped at 8 students.
