In case you're new to HVC, our Saturday night mainstage shows always play on the same night of each month: Understudies on the 1st Saturday, Not in Charge on the 3rd Saturday, etc. But we've been using 4th Saturdays for limited run shows with a specific number of performances. This allows us to try out new things, keep it fresh for the audience, and cast performers without requiring a huge time commitment. These auditions are for a new limited run show.
This show will run on the 4th Saturday of each month starting in April 2026. The cast will be a combination of current mainstage performers and those cast from auditions. The format will be inspired by The Soundtrack, which pairs music suggested by the audience with nonverbal scene openings to discover the characters and world of the show. We are looking for improvisers who are comfortable playing physically, dramatically, emotionally, and without words; acting experience and stage presence are especially valuable. The show also includes more traditional ensemble scenework, so experience with Harold, Armando, Living Room, Spokane, and related classes is useful.
If you've been to any auditions at HVC before, this will be familiar. First, fill out the online form below with your name, email, experience, and availability. At the auditions, we'll all warm up together. Then we'll call up randomly selected groups or pairs of players. We'll all be the audience for each other.
As always, we strive to make our auditions full of joy and ease. While only a few will be cast, the goal is for everyone to have fun and gain experience and confidence by auditioning.
