The Attic
|
Imagine three adult siblings meeting in Grandma’s attic. The house is going to be sold, and they’re cleaning out the house. They come upon three boxes they’ve never seen before, labeled “toys,” “photos,” and “clothing.” Each box contains a number of themed suggestions provided by the audience. The siblings go through each box, pulling out the suggestions and setting up a frame for the scenes that follow. The siblings can appear in their own narratives, or other actors can portray the scenes.
The Attic is reminiscent of the long form, Spokane. Each narrative can branch out into associated events, but it always returns to the attic and the three investigators into their family’s past.
Be ready for anything prompted by what’s in the boxes: old friends, shared experiences, unresolved grudges, hilarious recollections, crazy relatives and their stories, forgotten favorites, first loves and heartbreaks…whatever the audience has told you lies in the boxes.
Prerequisite: Long Form Scenework at HVC
