Applied Astrology:

In this workshop, we'll explore all 12 zodiac signs as tools on stage. Learn how to highlight each sign's unique vibe and strength. What sets them apart from their elemental besties (fire, earth, air and water) & how to bring it on stage. Students will learn to see scenic and structural tools in a new framework, bringing astrology's distinct energies on stage. Revitalize your improv skills, and lean into the strongest elements in your own birth chart or how to borrow a bit from less prominent ones. Stretch the limits of what you already know & have done in previous classes or shows - surprise yourself a little. Channel a new way to guide your relationship dynamics, scenic elements, richer characters. Could be fun to bring a little witchiness onstage... Why not!!?
Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 3 at HVC or permission from [email protected].
Zero astrology knowledge necessary!
About Your Teacher:
Emily Holland started doing improv way back in 2004, with her high school improv group... named Improv Troupe. Alongside Clark University's Peapod Squad, she continued pursuing pretend for strangers, won ImprovBoston's College Beanpot (and named the festival's MVP senior year, nbd). Emily began her professional comedy adventure at ImprovBoston, working on both sides of the stage, as the Associate Producer, comedy school instructor and TourCo cast member. Since then, Emily has lived on every coast - in Los Angeles 2x, North Carolina 1x too many, a minivan in many states & back home in Boston... for now. Her best Valentine's Day was 2016, which she spent performing an improv duo with Emo Phillips.
