Has it been a while since your Joy & Ease of Improv classes?
Pam misses working and playing with you!
Now that you've had more improv experience, let’s revisit, build off of, and expand the foundational concepts from The Joy & Ease of Improv: Quieting and reframing the inner critic. Listening to your foot. Finding, following, and facilitating joy and ease for yourself and your scene partners. Sharpening the skills of agreement and acceptance as we assume every other is right and it's our job to make it "righter." Holding to what’s been established (real reality), letting go of the ideas in our heads (virtual reality.) Discovering, playing, and sticking to the emotional point of view. Making good on your promise to the audience. Performing with kindness and choosing connection over conflict. Practicing patient scenework, allowing space to let the moment land, and playing with silence. Tuning into the musicality of editing. Practicing how to be of service to your scene partners, the scene, and the show.
All the fantabulous foundational skills of improv!
If you're performing improv, practicing regularly with a group, want to level up your basic scenework, or would like to get back in touch with the mindset that made you fall in love with improv in the first place, Foundations is for you.
Let's fuck it up, friends!

*Happier Valley Comedy rents land that was stolen from Indigenous people, including the Pocumtuc and Nipmuc tribes. A land acknowledgement is not appropriate or adequate to address this injustice that continues to harm people today. Therefore, we have instituted an ongoing process of contributing to the preservation of the lands and cultures of Northeastern Indigenous Peoples. All class fees contain an additional $3 to benefit The Nolumbeka Project, a local nonprofit whose mission is dedicated to these goals.
