Hello You, tOO!
|
It’s time to take what you experienced in Hello, You and kick it up a notch. This time, count on more time on stage and more feedback. We’ll still play around with some improv structures to continue to unveil the “you” that is the heart of your standup storytelling. But we’ll quickly switch over to “Our Own Private Open Mic” and spend time after each set to provide supportive feedback for one another, which is the hallmark of Happier Valley Comedy and Hello, You. We’ll hone each set so at the end you’ll have 4-5 minutes to feature at our own "Hello, You Showcase” during More Improv, More Better.
Prerequisites: Hello, You! Intro to Storytelling Standup
(If you have standup experience, see here for alternate prerequisites.)
Kelsey Flynn began her career in improv comedy in 1989 when she was a founding member of Smith College’s improv troupe, the Smith Improv Komedy Organization (SIKOs-pronounced “sickos.”) Over the past 30 years, she has performed in clubs and festivals and studied across the Great Comedy Map of the United States (GCMUS-pronounced ‘gick-moose’) including places like Chicago, New York, Seattle, and Sayre, Pennsylvania. Offstage, Kelsey has steadily plied her trade of comedy across many platforms, including as a morning-show radio host at 100.9 WRNX, and 93.9 WRSI, where she was awarded “Best Local DJ” two years in a row by the Valley Advocate. Kelsey also teaches storytelling standup and Zen 2 at Happier Valley Comedy.
