Location, Location, Location
|
Location, Location, Location is an HVC original format premiered by the cast of 2nd Saturdays Presents... that follows six characters in three two-person scenes that all take place in the same location, followed by a scenic montage further exploring the world those characters occupy. The form was developed out of the performers' desire to focus on emotionally grounded scenework and devote the time and space to building strong, relationship based scenes.
This Long Form Advanced Improv class will help you push yourself to dive deeply into your character's emotional point of view, develop strong relationships with your scene partners, and trust yourself to hold the stage for 8-10 minute two-person scenes in real time. We will also work turning inspiration into strong scenic initiations, and focus on the timing and execution of edits, while making moves that benefit the current scene and the piece as a whole as we move towards performing a shortened version of the Location, Location, Location format.
This class includes an optional student showcase performance at a Community Comedy Night.
PREREQUISITE: Find Your Scene, Long Form Scenework, or permission from instructor

*Happier Valley Comedy rents land that was stolen from Indigenous people, including the Pocumtuc and Nipmuc tribes. A land acknowledgement is not appropriate or adequate to address this injustice that continues to harm people today. Therefore, we have instituted an ongoing process of contributing to the preservation of the lands and cultures of Northeastern Indigenous Peoples.
