selling your song!
Saturday, July 6th 1pm - 4pm (3 hours) Happier Valley Comedy Theater (1 Mill Valley Rd in Hadley) $50 Prerequisite: Any musical improv workshop or class at HVC, or permission from admin (email Scott) |
You have all the nuts & bolts of improvising a song; now it's time to bring it to the next level! We'll work on bringing Broadway-level physicality and commitment to musical improv, and finding the emotional core of a song that can really hook an audience. Along the way, we'll take a look at some iconic Broadway moments & see how we can learn to heighten the musical theater storytelling and visual language.
Prerequisite: Any musical improv workshop or class at HVC,
or permission from admin (email Scott)
About Your Teacher:
Jeff Kimball is the Music Director of The Understudies here at HVC, a Music Director at ImprovBoston, and has been improvising across the Northeast, both on stage & behind the keyboard, since sometime in the previous millennium. He has MD'd for a wide variety of resident casts, indie teams, and other shows, in addition to music theatre. If you play your cards right, you might see him playing banjo and accordion unironically in public.
Fine Print!
*Please note that once you make your purchase, your place in the class is NON-REFUNDABLE unless we have 48 hours notice before first class AND we can get someone to fill your spot.
*Students must attend at least 2/3 of the classes to graduate to the next level.
*Students must be 18+ years. (In actual years, not maturity. ;)
*Our classes may involve physical activity and we could be on our feet for at least an hour; however, we're able to accommodate for all physical abilities. Please let email us to let us know how we can best fit your needs or if you have any questions about accommodations.
