a variety of theatrical improv comedy shows
on the second saturday of every month at 7pm
Flip The Script!
We invite a local playwright to bring an unfinished script to the show; an original work that's never seen the stage. Then we read the character descriptions, cast the show, and launch into its first ever performance. Once we run out of lines, we drop the scripts and improvise the rest of the play while the playwright watches in delight (or horror!) Inspired by The Script Tease Project created by Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus.

Our playwright this month: Patrick Gabridge is the producing artistic director and founder of Plays in Place and has created site-specific plays in partnership with many museums and historic sites, including Mount Auburn Cemetery, Boston’s Old State House, Old South Meeting House, Historic Northampton, and Old North Church, among others. He is an award-winning playwright and has written two dozen historical plays, along with many contemporary plays that have received more than 1,000 productions from theatres and schools around the world (17 countries so far). He’s also a screenwriter, novelist, and a writer of audio plays. Look for upcoming site-specific plays this summer and fall in Cambridge, Newport, Deerfield, Northampton, and at the Old New-Gate Prison & Copper Mine in Connecticut. He and his family live in Florence.

What's the Cozy Floor Chair?
Our new front row is a little bit different - casual, cute, cozy.
When buying show tickets, you'll see two options: General Admission (all the standard height seats) and Cozy Floor Chair. Be sure to pick the right one! These seats are not for everyone; you must be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance. As you can see in the photo, your butt will only be about 6" from the floor.
Got questions or bought the wrong ticket? Email Scott.
Please note: it might feel like our theater is now your living room. You are, in fact, in a public space and expected to be wearing clothes. If you fall asleep during a show, we reserve the right to sing you a lullaby.
