About Your Teacher: Pam Victor is the Head of Happiness (founder/president) of Happier Valley Comedy, where she gets to teach improv to the best students in the world. (That's you!) Pam is the creator of The Joy & Ease of Improv curriculum. She also brings the power of improvisation to the workplace in Happier Valley Comedy's professional development and workplace wellness programs. Pam is the author of the children's therapeutic fiction book "Baj and the Word Launcher: Space Age Aspergers Adventures in Communication." Along with improv greats TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi, Pam co-authored "Improvisation at the Speed of Life: The TJ and Dave Book." Students get preview access to her upcoming "The Joy & Ease of Improv Companion Book," a week by week guide through the first four levels of our improv curriculum. A Smith College graduate with a Master's in Elementary Education from Iona College (NY), Pam received improv training from iO Theater (Chicago,) Annoyance Theater (Chicago,) Improv Boston, Second City Chicago teachers, and mostly from getting onstage (sometimes skillfully, sometimes very much not!) over and over and over for the last couple decades. In 2019, Pam was awarded the New England Public Radio Arts & Humanities Award. She also is a TEDx speaker. Most of all, Pam is a kind person and she likes you already.
*Happier Valley Comedy rents land that was stolen from Indigenous people, including the Pocumtuc and Nipmuc tribes. A land acknowledgement is not appropriate or adequate to address this injustice that continues to harm people today. Therefore, we have instituted an ongoing process of contributing to the preservation of the lands and cultures of Northeastern Indigenous Peoples. All class fees contain an additional $3 to benefit The Nolumbeka Project, a local nonprofit whose mission is dedicated to these goals.

Appreciation from improv 1 students:
"Taking this class made me feel braver, more confident, less self-critical, and I had fun!" |
"Improv is truly changing my life for the better. |
"It’s a great class; you learn so much, have a lot of fun, and meet great people." |
"I was a improv newb when I signed up and I was really blown away by how profound the lessons of improv actually are. I assumed it was about trying to be fast and funny and witty. I learned that it's about really paying attention, accepting what others are doing and trying to help them succeed."
