the joy & ease of Improv 2
|
TThis class picks right up where Improv 1 left off. We continue to practice the ease-full approach to improvisation in an incredibly positive and accepting atmosphere that will build your confidence as you strengthen your skills and expand your improv toolbox. Our special focus in Improv 2 is on establishing a community of trust and confident risk-taking as we get more comfortable jumping gleefully into the unknown and selflessly supporting our teammates. Let's really dive into an exploration of "Who needs you most?" and "Listen to your foot" in exploring how we can be of most service to the scene and each other! Ready to get back on the joyride?
This class will be taught by Kelsey Flynn!
Kelsey Flynn began her career in improv comedy in 1989 when she was a founding member of Smith College’s improv troupe, the Smith Improv Komedy Organization (SIKOs-pronounced “sickos.”) Over the past 30 years, she has performed in clubs and festivals and studied across the Great Comedy Map of the United States (GCMUS-pronounced ‘gick-moose’) including places like Chicago, New York, Seattle, and Sayre, Pennsylvania. Offstage, Kelsey has steadily plied her trade of comedy across many platforms, including as a morning-show radio host at 100.9 WRNX, and 93.9 WRSI, where she was awarded “Best Local DJ” two years in a row by the Valley Advocate. Kelsey also teaches storytelling standup and improv for kids at Happier Valley Comedy.
