WELCOME TO A HAPPIER SUMMER!
Check out this veritable buffet of 2-hour workshops that can fit in between your Summer travel plans! Our exciting lineup of teachers are offering a wide variety of subjects, including musical improv, sketch comedy, mindfulness, and of course, improv skills, games, and formats for students of all levels. Be sure to check the prerequisite for any workshop you're interested in - email us with any questions.

questions about who can Participate in Summer workshops
do I need to have ALREADY taken AN improv class at happier valley comedy to take A Summer workshop?
Most of our workshops have a prerequisite of at least Improv 1, but not all. Click here to see our Summer offerings for those who are new to Happier Valley Comedy!
i haven't taken improv 1 AT HVC, But I have other improv experience. Can I participate in workshops that have prerequisites?
As much as we love saying yes, we're not making exceptions to this. Our workshops with prerequisites are for students who are already familiar with our specific approach to improvisation and our cultural agreements. Click here to see our Summer offerings for those who are new to Happier Valley Comedy, which include two versions of our Improv 1 Intensive! If you want to be sure not to miss the next session of our regular weekly Improv 1 class, sign up for the Improv 1 Notification List on this page! Everyone on this list gets an email notification about a week before registration opens for the next session. Thank you for your patience! When we do get to play together, it surely will be wonderful and worth the wait.

Do i have to register for each individual workshop?
Yes! Each workshop requires registration in advance. The cost for most workshops is $34.
will things sell out? do i need to rush?
Each workshop has between 10 and 14 spots and we often sell out! If you have your heart set on some specific workshops, you should plan to register right when it opens on Friday, June 19th at 7:00am. If a workshop is full, the Enroll button will instead say Click To Join The Waitlist. By adding your name to the waitlist, you'll receive an email with a link to register as soon as a spot becomes available!
How do I make changes to my registration?
Please do your best to only register for workshops you know you will be able to attend. We cannot give a refund unless we receive notice at least 48 hours before the workshop and we are able to fill your spot. Email us with any questions or to let us know you won't make it. We'll do our best to help!
how last minute can i decide to join a workshop?
If there's still an open spot, you can register online up to 15 minutes before the workshop starts. Please do not show up if you haven't registered online as the class may be full.

who are the teachers?
Summer workshops are taught by an experienced crew of instructors ready to lead you in a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable taking risks and learning something new. Our teachers this Summer are Mosie, Kate, Chris, Hillary, Sarah, Katharine, Pam, Scott, and Maddy. Click any event to see the teacher's bio below the workshop description!
will I know everyone in my workshop?
Probably not, but that's a huge benefit of the Summer schedule. Though you may be pretty infatuated and comfortable with your last class group, workshops give you an opportunity to get infatuated and comfortable with a whole new group of people. We get better by playing with a wider variety of improvisers.
i want to play with my old classmates. how can we stay together?
Communicate ahead of time and make a plan for registration day. Be sure to register right at 7:00am on Friday, June 19th. Wear your lucky outfit. If someone doesn't get in, they should definitely join the waitlist!

what if i'm scared everyone else is going to be better than me?
Tip your jaunty cap to your inner critic who is raising that fear-based belief - which is not a fact! - and then swipe left on that message of unhelpful judgment. You've got this, pal. As long as you meet the prerequisites, you should be in good shape. Yes, there may be students there who have more improv experience than you - that's a good thing! Their experience is going to make you a more skilled improviser. It's fun and easeful to play with skilled improvisers! And guess what? Chances are, someone else in your class is intimidated by your mad improv skillz. Mixed skills programs are excellent learning opportunities.
